What You’ll Do as a Patient Access Specialist

As a Patient Access Specialist, you are often the first point of contact for patients. You will ensure accurate registrations, insurance verification, and compliance while delivering compassionate, high-quality service.

Your responsibilities include:

• Registering and admitting patients accurately and efficiently

• Assigning Medical Record Numbers (MRNs) and verifying patient information

• Collecting insurance details and confirming eligibility

• Explaining financial responsibilities and collecting point-of-service payments

• Completing medical necessity and compliance checks (ABN screening)

• Pre-registering patient accounts through inbound and outbound calls

• Explaining consent forms and patient education documents clearly

• Auditing accounts to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance

• Providing outstanding customer service measured by Press Ganey standards

What We’re Looking For

• High School Diploma or GED (required)

• 1+ year of customer service experience

• Strong communication and attention to detail

• Willingness to obtain CRCR certification within 9 months of hire

• Ability to work on-site in Simpsonville, SC

Healthcare experience is a plus—but not required. We provide training to help you succeed as a Patient Access Specialist.
