Appletree Court Care Home is seeking an experienced and compassionate Clinical Lead Nurse to join our team in Edgware (HA8 0AX). This is a full-time, permanent opportunity offering £25 per hour, ideal for a Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN/RNLD) with strong leadership experience in dementia and complex care environments.

As a Clinical Lead Nurse, you will support the Home Manager in delivering outstanding clinical governance, medication management, and team leadership while ensuring compliance with CQC standards and safeguarding regulations.

🔎 Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage clinical and care teams

• Oversee medication administration and care plan quality

• Maintain clinical governance standards and conduct audits

• Support CQC inspections and regulatory compliance

• Deliver high-quality dementia and complex care

• Act as Nurse in Charge in the absence of the Home Manager

• Manage PCS system documentation

• Provide safeguarding oversight and maintain compliance paperwork

• Conduct infection prevention and control procedures

• Liaise with GPs and Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDTs)

• Mentor and train junior nursing staff

• Perform clinical tasks including:

  • Syringe driver management

  • Catheterisation

  • Blood sampling

  • PEG feeding

  • Stoma care

🧠 Essential Skills & Experience

• Valid UK NMC PIN (RGN / RMN / RNLD)

• Recognised Nursing Qualification (UK NMC)

• Strong knowledge of:

  • Clinical Governance

  • Dementia and Complex Care

  • Care Planning

  • Medication Management

  • CQC inspection frameworks

  • Safeguarding procedures

  • Mental Capacity Act & Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS)

• Previous experience leading nursing teams

• Strong clinical decision-making skills

• Ability to support resident mobility needs

• Flexible to work varied shifts including Bank Holidays
