Kadlec Regional Medical Center, part of the Providence Health System, is hiring a Clinical Student Intern (Phlebotomy) for an entry-level healthcare management and clinical training role in Richland, Washington. This position is ideal for students or early-career professionals seeking hands-on healthcare experience, paid clinical training, and a pathway into laboratory or patient care roles.

Under the supervision of the Clinical Laboratory leadership team, the intern will be trained to perform specimen collection, patient interaction, and laboratory support duties while completing the Providence Phlebotomy Training Program.

What You’ll Do

  • Collect, transport, and process patient specimens accurately and safely

  • Interact professionally with patients, families, physicians, and care teams

  • Apply age-appropriate communication across all patient demographics

  • Maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive medical information

  • Use medical and laboratory equipment following safety standards

  • Complete Providence’s internal phlebotomy training program

  • Meet eligibility for Washington State Medical Assistant–Phlebotomist licensure


Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications

  • Enrollment in the Providence Phlebotomy Training Program

  • Ability to complete training within 3 months of hire

  • 1 year of healthcare experience with patient interaction

  • 6 months of customer service or phone-based experience

  • 6 months of laboratory or science-related experience
